feature art friday | lauren dicioccio

lauren dicioccio uses colour to recreate pages of text. she assigns a colour to every letter in the alphabet and shades of grey to numbers (i.e. 0 white and 9 is back). the first two paintings below, which dicioccio says remind her of centered rorschach ink blots, are from vogue 2010 list of contributer pages. this artwork is the perfect joining of my love of text and my current obsession with colour in art. i love that the artist has translated the text below into a whole other language.
