snail mail | stamp frenzy
today at the post office, the cashier put sticker postage on my first package. booooring. so i kindly asked if we could use real stamps for the second one which was going to france. well by golly - i think they've been holding out on me! look at all these great stamps below! i didn't even know there was such a thing as a 'five dollar' stamp, and i just about died when she pulled out the chubby walrus stamp.

The $5 moose is incredible! The other $1/$2/$10 stamps are all beauties too!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness. I has never even dawned on me that we could get such lovely postage stamps here is Canada by simply asking for them at the post office. I LOVE to send snail mail and will now be doing it in style, like you do!

I wanted to put some nice stamps on our save the date cards, they told me they only had golf stamps and I was really disappointed- Golf is boring!! Eventually I managed to get out of them that they secretly had tropical reef fish stamps! Holding out on me, bigtime!
ReplyDelete(PS Got my mail from you, awesome! Thanks again)
That is a beautiful package. Whoever is the recipient is sure to smile!
ReplyDeleteThose are awesome, I love the moose! :) -Lo
ReplyDeleteI used to collect stamps when I was younger, there was just something about them that I loved. I then found out my mum used to do it and I've now got her collection, and it is huge! But I won't use any of them because the sentimental value is through the roof, especially considering her current physical condition. But these days, if ever I receive a letter or a package with an actual stamp on it, instead of paid postage stickers, I'll cut it out and keep it. It's a habit I can't stop!
ReplyDeleteAll of those stamps are amazing, but I find myself particularly drawn to the ladybird!
I love the small packages where it's possible to put several stamps and this one is very pretty !
ReplyDeletethanks so much for sharing that kim! i loved hearing about it and was curious whether anyone still collected stamps.
