snail mail | holiday cards

our mail box was absolutely inundated with cards this year! it's been absolutely delightful finding a card  every day. i think a lot of it has to do with the fact that j and i didn't travel back to ontario for christmas this year. but i think it's something else too. j and i got married last spring and strangely enough, i think that's the reason that we received so many joint cards. is it possible that people are still traditional like that? j and i have beem together for almost seven years, and this is our fourth christmas living together but never have we received christmas cards in such abundance - if any at all! how funny!

didn't get the chance to send holiday cards this year? prepare early for next year!

  1. I love getting cards in the post. It's a dying art though, I fear!

  2. Wow, what a spread! Some of those are quite stunning! I've been sending cards by mail to all of my extended relatives and close friends for about 10 years now (this year I sent 30) and I still only receive a few each year. I absolutely love sending them and would keep doing it even if I didn't receive any, but I wish others would take up this activity to learn how fun it can be! I would love to receive more!

  4. We received a ton of cards, too. I think that getting married just makes everyone update their addresses and lists and such, not so much that didn't send you cards before due the fact of not being married. That's my theory anyway. :)

  5. These are lovely! I swear next year I start in July making christmas cards, this year was just way too short...20 cards in less than 2 weeks...never again!
