i discovered these pieces by rosita bonita* on howkapow. i kind of need these hummingbird necklaces don't you think? bonita's work is described as being inspired by fruit packaging, fifties textile designs and the tropical costumes of carmen miranda. her illustrations are screen printed on to coloured leather. at first i thought they appeared to be metal but i kind of like that they are soft!
* is that or is that not the catchiest name you've ever heard?
